Safety Records are updated on a regular basis to make sure that we work in a safe and healthy environment. Products purchased to clean our fleet of Cranes and vehicles are purchased on the basis that the products are environmentally friendly. We currently have plants and shrubs planted on our premise, it is not only pleasing on the eye but it encourages employees, visitors and clients to promote a healthy environment.

We provide PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to our employees as per the OHS ( Occupational Health and Safety) Act. All our operational staff are provided with Ear Plugs, Safety Glasses and Hard Hats. Our employees are motivated to adopt better and safer working practices at work as well as at their individual homes.
Crane Operators undergo intensive training before being qualified as a Crane Operator. All our Crane Operators have valid proof of their crane operating licenses. We motivate employees and the industry to improve health and safety by setting the example of adhering to safety rules and regulations and to always strive to find means of improving health standards.
We carry out daily, monthly and quarterly equipment inspections as well as operational staff undergoing regular medical examinations in keeping the current Health and Safety Act. Our cranes undergo annual load testing and calibration tests, further to this out fleet of cranes undergo quarterly mechanical services. As part of our commitment to safety in the work environment, we maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop environment.
Richards Bay Crane Hire prides itself on having a qualified Safety Officer as part of our employ. Our Safety Officer currently possesses the following industry qualifications – SAMTRAC, Applied SHE Principles and Procedures, Basic SHE Inspection, National Diploma in Safety Management.
